Becoming Catholic
We invite you to explore the Christian faith. It is good news - the forgiveness of sin AND restoration of friendship with God. Historically, intellectually, and artistically rich, the story of Jesus Christ and His church is truly amazing. The desire of your heart is God, and to be in His presence without shame. The Church is not a set of rules and condemnations, rather, it is a family. A family of God's children that brings God's mercies, grace, and good gifts in this world to all who will receive. You can pray now "Jesus, I trust in You! Help me to know You."
RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
RCIA is the ordinary means for an adult (14 and older) to learn the Catholic faith in preparation for joining the Church on Easter. It consists of a 9 month long series of weekly classes where the teachings of the Church are explained and explored. Every adult is welcome to take the classes and there is no commitment to join. You are exploring and learning the faith. In addition, any adult Catholic is also welcome to the classes in order to learn more, share their faith, and support the candidates.
The RCIA class is a tour of the deposit of faith and teachings of the Church. To make a profession of faith, first be convinced in your heart, head, and soul that this is the Church that was founded by Christ, and is divinely enabled, as the Bride of Christ, to shepherd and mother us toward our eternal destiny with God.
